Rock Balancing Art
A Rock Balance can only stand the test of time within the photograph. When it's created, it may stand for a few seconds, or hours, and that will depend on the tide, wind, or often people. Curiosity gets the better of them, and the slightest touch will collapse it. Most of the balances were created on the Yorkshire coast in the UK, mainly on a 5-mile stretch of beach in Filey, with others in Scarborough and the white ones in Bridlington. I like to use large stones; the heaviest top rocks are over 30kgs and some of the base stones are over 100kgs, that I can’t lift but can pull up to a standing position to be able to balance another upon them. I like to incorporate the beautiful scenery in my pictures as well as sunrises and sunsets.
